Welcome to Sparkwork, we are thrilled to have you on board! This article will guide you through your firsts steps in Sparkwork.
Going through the following steps will give you a good understanding of how publishing and targeting content works in Sparkwork.
A good way of getting to know your new Sparkwork environment is creating your first Channel. Channels are flexible team, theme or location based information sharing groups. After creating a Channel, you can try publishing your first Post in your Channel.
Start creating a Channel by opening the Admin menu and going to the Channel settings page. Click the "Add Channel button" in the top right corner of the page, name and create your channel, and go on to select the desired settings for your new channel.
To manage members for your new Channel, click on the settings icon on the right under the cover photo, and select "Manage members".
- Filter users by name or Org. Unit on the left, and assign them their roles in the Channel on the right.
- The roles are: M (Manager: can moderate, delete comments, manage members), A (Author: can add content), L (Learner: can access content). The last icon means the Channel is invisible to the User.
- From the triple dot menu in the right corner you can add all selected users as learners.
Your Channel is now ready to use!
Now you can start publishing content to your Channel by creating your first Post. Start creating a Post by clicking the pencil icon in the top right corner of the page.
- The Post can be a text post, a video, or a file. You can also add links to the text field of the Post.
- Select the Org. Units or Channels to which you wish to publish your Post. If you publish a Post only to a specific Channel, like your newly created one, it will only show up in that Channel's feed, and not the Home page newsfeed.
- Select a Category or Tags for the Post (optional).
- Members can comment and like the Post (if commenting has not been disabled).
- Once a Post is published, it appears in the main feed if the Org. Unit was selected. If only a Channel was selected, then the Post appears only to that Channel’s feed.
- Clicking the triple bar icon under the Post will allow admins to edit or delete the Post.
